Folk medicinal uses

Bark - An infusion of pounded bark is used as a remedy for pneumonia. A decoction of the bark is drunk as a purgative or emetic. Pounded bark is soaked in water and the paste rubbed on itch, ringworm and other parasitic skin diseases.

Roots - A decoction of the roots is taken as a remedy for colds, as a diuretic or to induce labour in pregnant women.

Seed - The seed oil is applied to sores, ringworm, itch, and other skin diseases.
